Stichting Nichiran Net Privacy Notice 

Stichting Nichiran Net (“Nichiran Net", “We”, “our” or “us”) is a foundation (“stichting”) established in the Netherlands, having the address at Ouderkerkerlaan 15, 1185 AB , Amstelveen, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (“De Kamer van Koophandel” ) under the number 27287007. 

This privacy policy will explain how we use the personal data we collect from you. This privacy policy has been drafted in connection with our obligation laying down in the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) including Dutch laws implementing or supplementing the GDPR. 

1. What personal data do we collect?

Nichiran Net collects personal data relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender and pictures as the case may be. 

2. How and when do we collect your personal data?

You directly provide us with most of your personal data we collect. We collect and process your personal data mainly when you:

• Complete our membership application form;

• Complete voluntarily an online inquiry;

• Send us an email; 

• Participate our events; or

• Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

We also receive your personal data indirectly from other organisations or individuals when it may regard to your interest and conform with our activities.

3. Why do we collect and process your personal data?

Nichiran Net collects your personal data so that we can:

• Contact you in order to reply your inquiry; 

• Send emails or post to you for our news, events information and any information we consider interesting for you as our member; 

• Publish events pictures on our website “members only”; and 

• Manage your membership account.

With prior your explicit consent, we will share your personal data with organisations which have common interest or purpose with us, so that they can offer you their services.

4. International Transfer 

Nichiran Net shall not transfers your personal data to a country or an international organisation outside the EEA unless the transfer or international organisation recognized by a decision of the European Commission as ensuring an adequate level of protection of the personal data or unless appropriate safeguards to protect the personal data in place. 

5. Special categories of personal data

Nichiran Net does not request special categories of personal data. Special categories of personal data are: personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation, unless i) you have given explicit consent to the processing of those personal data for one or more specified purposes, ii) processing is necessary to protect your vital interests or of another natural person where you are physically or legally incapable of giving consent, iii) processing is carried out in the course of our legitimate activities with appropriate safeguards and on condition that the processing relates solely to the members or to former members or to persons who have regular contact with it in connection with our purposes and that the personal data are not disclosed outside Nichiran Net without the consent of the data subjects, or iv) any events of ground stipulated in the GDPR.

6. How long do we store your data?

Nichiran Net does not store your personal data for any longer than is necessary for the realisation of the above objectives for the processing your personal data, unless this data is required to comply with a statutory retention duty or until the retention period under the applicable rules of conducts and professional practice if this is longer.

7. What are your personal data protection rights?

Nichiran Net would like to make sure that you are fully aware of all of your personal data protection rights. You are entitled to the following with regard to the processing of your personal data:

• The right to access – You have the right to request us for copies of your personal data; 

• The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request us to complete the information you believe is incomplete;

• The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions;

• The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions;

• The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions;

• The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions;

• The right to withdraw your consent – You mag withdraw your consent where the processing of your personal data is relied on your consent.

8. Contractual or Statutory Obligation 

The provision of personal data is not a statutory or contractual requirement. However, Nichiran Net is not able to accept you as our member or terminate providing you with our service terminate in case you are not willing to provide the necessary personal data for these purposes. We do not make uses of automated decision-making on the basis of the personal data we collect from you.  

9. Security 

Nichiran Net has implemented generally accepted technological procedures and security guidelines to avoid the loss, misuse, destruction, or unintentional amendment of personal data. 

10. Cookies

When you visit our website “members only”, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology in order to be able to keep the login status. Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information. 

11. Privacy policies of other websites

Our website contains links to other websites. Our privacy policy applies only to our website, so if you click on a link to another website, you should read their privacy policy.

Nichiran Net keeps its privacy policy under regular review and places any updates on this web page. This privacy policy was last updated on 14 July 2019.
